Gold prices saw a slight increase on Friday, with the price of 24-carat gold rising by Rs 10. The precious metal was trading at Rs 90,670 for ten grams, according to the GoodReturns website. Meanwhile, silver prices also climbed, with one kilogram of silver gaining Rs 100 to reach Rs 1,05,200.
The price of 22-carat gold also increased by Rs 10, with ten grams of the metal selling for Rs 83,110.
In key cities, the price of ten grams of 24-carat gold was as follows:
- Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai: Rs 90,670
- Delhi: Rs 90,820
For 22-carat gold, the price of ten grams stood at:
- Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad: Rs 83,110
- Delhi: Rs 83,260
Silver prices across major cities were:
- Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai: Rs 1,05,200 per kilogram
- Chennai: Rs 1,14,200 per kilogram
On the global front, US gold prices remained steady on Friday, staying just below their record highs from the previous session. Geopolitical and economic uncertainties, along with the Federal Reserve’s hints at potential rate cuts this year, continued to support safe-haven demand for the precious metal.
As of 0030 GMT, spot gold was unchanged at $3,043.89 per ounce, just below its record high of $3,057.21 reached the day before. Gold has gained about 2% this week. US gold futures also saw a small rise, up 0.3% to $3,051.90.
Meanwhile, silver prices saw a slight dip, falling by 0.3% to $33.45 per ounce. Platinum gained 0.1% to $985.55, while palladium dropped 0.2% to $950.47.
